The fee for each session is $200 whether you’re an individual, couple, or family

Do I come into the office or…?

At this time due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, we are holding sessions exclusively online through HIPAA compliant platforms. This allows your to have therapy from the comfort of your own home and carve out time to focus on you without the hassle of figuring out travel time!

Eventually, we do hope to return to our beloved Forest Hills office space, and we’ll keep you posted on when that changes.

Sessions are scheduled Monday through Thursday with two nights with after hours appointments.

This practice is an out of network practice. This means that you pay for the session at the time of service and we provide you with an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement commensurate with your plan’s out of network benefits. If you would like to have your out of network benefits verified, please let us know during your consult.

But what if I really need to use my in network benefits?

If you would like to use your benefits, I have limited hours over with my partner company, headway.co, and you can view and schedule here

What can I expect in a first session?

In a first session, we’re getting to know one another. We’ll spend time talking about what brings you to therapy and may explore some of your background and upbringing. We’ll then collaboratively set preliminary treatment goals that combine your desires and my expertise. My goal is for you to walk away from a first session feeling more hopeful and to demystify your path to feeling better.

Do you work with children?

In this practice, we only work with people over the age of 18.

Are you trauma informed?

It is my belief that this work cannot be ethically done without being trauma informed and I make it a priority to include trauma specific training in my yearly continuing education to ensure that I am up to date on the newest evidence based practices.

What therapy model do you use?

I primarily utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy which is an evidence based therapy model that is highly effective with couples, individuals, and families. Operating under this model, we will look at patterns in your relationships, especially around conflict and other emotionally charged issues (like when you feel you’re having the same fight over and over again regardless of what the fight is actually about), and take steps to create a more secure bond and develop more trust to move in a healthier, more positive direction. To accomplish this, I will encourage you to look at your current emotional challenges and the ways that you typically respond then help you discover feelings and emotions that you may not realize drive these responses. You may discover deeper past feelings and vulnerabilities that are blocked by the more immediate emotions you display in your current relationships. We will then work together to cocreate ways to express these emotions in a way that will help you connect, rather than disconnect in your relationships and the world around you. You will learn new ways to listen and stay attuned to both your own and another’s emotions and discover more productive ways to respond to emotional situations. In additional to Emotionally Focused Therapy, I also integrate aspects of Structural Family Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy when appropriate.

That said, multiple studies have repeatedly found that independent of model, experience, or any other factor, the most likely indicator of successful outcomes in therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship. The therapeutic relationship will always be at the forefront of our work.
